Empowering young people to achieve their highest potential, our Top Awards Team guides and supports Scouts in earning prestigious accolades that recognise their dedication, resilience, and growth.

Long Description:

Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? As a Top Awards Team Member, you'll play a pivotal role in inspiring and assisting Scouts on their journey to attain the highest awards in each section—from the Chief Scout’s Acorn Award in Squirrels to the King’s Scout Award in Explorers.​

Collaborating closely with Section Leaders, you'll provide guidance, resources, and encouragement to ensure that programmes are challenging, rewarding, and aligned with the requirements of these esteemed awards. Your efforts will help young people engage in diverse activities, develop new skills, and create lasting memories.​

Communications Team

Short Description:

Connecting our volunteers and sharing the magic of Scouting! Our Communications Lead ensures everyone stays informed, engaged, and inspired—whether through emails, newsletters, social media, or local press.

Long Description:

Are you a natural storyteller who loves bringing people together? As Communications Lead, you’ll take charge of how we share information, celebrate achievements, and engage with both our volunteers and the wider community.

​

Internally, you’ll help keep our volunteers up to date through emails, newsletters, and internal platforms—making sure everyone knows what’s happening, from training opportunities to upcoming events. Externally, you’ll use social media, press releases, and community outreach to showcase the incredible things Scouts are doing, attracting new members and supporters.

​

From creating engaging content to managing our online presence and building relationships with local media, you’ll play a vital role in making sure our message reaches the right people in the right way. If you’re creative, organised, and passionate about great communication, this role is perfect for you!

Nights Away Advisors

Short Description:

Ensuring safe and memorable overnight experiences, our Nights Away and Assessments Team supports and evaluates residential events, empowering leaders to provide quality camping adventures for young people

Long Description:

Are you passionate about outdoor adventures and committed to safety? As a Nights Away Advisor, your responsibilities will include guiding leaders through the Nights Away Permit Scheme, conducting assessments to ensure they possess the necessary skills and experience, and promoting best practices for residential experiences.​

​

Collaborating closely with volunteers, you'll provide resources, mentorship, and support to help plan and execute successful overnight events. Your expertise will ensure that all camping and residential activities are conducted safely, inclusively, and in line with Scouts' policies. If you have a keen eye for detail, a love for the outdoors, and a desire to mentor others, this role is an excellent fit for you!
